Security

To ensure security of your credit card, MeGo has taken a number of steps to ensure that your financial transactions with us are as safe as possible.

Technology

Your card information required for payments (viz. 16 digit number, Expiry date, CVV Number and VBV / Secure Code) is provided on Axis bank’s payment gateway page (for card authorization). The bank uses SSL encryption technology (you will see an https:// page).

Internal security

The site does not store your complete credit card details since all transactions are handled directly by Axis Bank’s payment gateway.

Physical verification

We share details like Credit card holder’s name with the Accommodation provider to prevent fraud or misuse of your card by another person. The Accommodation is to offer the accommodation service only upon matching the physical card (or the copy of its front side) with the Credit card holder’s name, as provided at the time of booking.

We have guided the accommodation providers only to match the credit card (or its photocopy) and a Government issued photo Id of the Guest upon arrival. This can prevent misuse of your credit card and also ensure that the right user avails the service.

Verified by Visa and Mastercard Secure Code / 3-D Security

“Verified by Visa” & “Mastercard Secure Code”, also known as 3-D Security measures, are simple ways to enhance the security of online shopping. Apart from adding the usual 16 digit credit card number, 3 digit code (CVV), name & expiry date, one can enter an additional password that ensures only you use the card online. Upon activating this service, any subsequent online purchase will require this personal password to be verified.

VBV and Secure Code provide an extra level of protection for online shopping. They help to prevent unauthorized use online before it can happen.

To activate your card for these services

You can activate using 2 methods. During an online purchase on a site that offers VBV / Secure Code service, you can choose to activate the service. You will then be required to enter details for your card issuer and then create your password. Alternatively, you can activate your card by calling up the bank that issued your card and choosing a password and a personal message.

To use these services

Once you enter your card number at the payment page, a Verified By Visa/MasterCard SecureCode window will appear and your card issuer will display an authentication page. You will be required to enter your password/IPIN and click on submit. Once your identity is authenticated, the purchase process will proceed.
